The childhood and graduated from high school in Glenwood Springs. Mrs. Chapman had lived in Redcliff and Glenwood Springs before moving to Grand Junction. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, the Grand Junction Newcomer's Club and was a volunteer for the Tri-River Area Extension Service. Mrs.

Chapman enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, playing bridge, the outdoors and gardening. Survivors include her mother, Mrs. Adella Drake of Glenwood Springs; two sons, Jeff Chapman of Thousand Palms, and Scott Chapman of Mesa, two daughters, Jule Firestone of Steamboat Springs, and Sandy Thies of Palisade; two brothers, Harry Drake of Albuquerque, N.M., and Jim Drake of Florida; a sister, Louise Drake of Los Angeles; and eight grandchildren. Her father; and a brother, Larry Drake, are deceased. Callahan-Edfast Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Robert Kjar July 24, 1913 Oct. 4, 1992 Robert Kjar of Delta died of natural causes Sunday in Delta County Memorial Hospital. He was 79. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in St.

Michael's Catholic Church of Delta with Father Nathanael Foshage officiating. Burial will be in Delta City Cemetery. Mr. Kjar had been in inventory control with Major Motors in Fort Collins until he retired in 1978. He had been a resident of Delta since September 1978.

He was born July 24, 1913, to Carl W. and Clara Kuryea Kjar in Lexington, where he spent his childhood and graduated from high school. He married Gladys Phelps on Sept. 12, 1940, in Denver. She survives.

Mr. Kjar had lived in Lexington, Denver and Loveland before moving to Delta. He enjoyed gardening, wood Daily Sentinel Tuesday, carving and travel. Other survivors include two sons. Donald Kjar of Payneville, Maine, and Fred Kjar of Mesa, a daughter.

Linda Behrens of North Monkato, Maine: three brothers, Gene Kjar of Mesa. and Paul Kjar Carl Kjar, both of Lexington, two sisters, Rosalie Gifford of Lexington, and Patricia Wojciechowski of Tucson, and seven grandchildren. Brokering May 3. 1915 Oct. 2. 1992 Harry Bernard Brokering of Delta died after an extended illness Friday in Bethesda Care Center in Delta. He was 77.

A private memorial service will be at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the First Presbyterian Church in Glenwood Springs with the Rev. Roy Altman officiating. Burial will be at 9 a.m. Saturday in Forest Hills Cemetery in Shelbyville.

Ind. Mr. Brokering was a retired mortician and an accomplished musician. He was born May 3, 1915, to Harry G. and Gertrude Henry Brokering in Shelbyville.

He spent his childhood in Indiana and Ohio. He married Miriam Irene Slanker. She died in New Jersey in 1963. He had previously been married to Louise Brokering. They were divorced.

Mr. Brokering had lived in Clare, Grand Junction and Glenwood Springs before moving to Delta one year ago. He was a past Mason, achieving the 32nd Degree in Clare. Mr. Brokering loved his music and was an organist and pianist.

He also was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an avid churchgoer and took his religion very seriously. Survivors include a son, H. Robert Brokering of Glenwood Springs; a daughter, Marilyn Fleming of Telluride; and nine grandchildren. A daughter.

Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Kaye Burbridge of Grand Junction; and three brothers, Don Hayes of Grants, N.M., Loren Hayes of Norwalk, and Joe Hayes of Sylvester, Ga.
